Despite a certain tendency to hunker down in our decrepit and ill-furnished abodes here at the Sleeping Village, there exists, on occasion, an undeniable urge to throw on a pair of good boots and head out into the unknown. It's a dark and dangerous world out there, and in this way, the joy of discovery is worn like a badge of bravery. In this spirit, we're very pleased to present the video for Guild of Lore's "A Wandering Path," a track most excellent--or perhaps fantastic(al.) As far as I'm concerned, Guild of Lore is quietly approaching dungeon synth's forefront. The genre is a burgeoning one, to be sure, and the cloak'd Guild Master Ingsmith's exploration of parts unknown is simultaneously fresh and nostalgic in its acoustic meanderings. These type of immersive environments benefit from evocative soundscapes, and here, the tone is appropriately set by ethereal ambiance and the crispest of guitars. This the spacious inner soundtrack to a journey through pastoral environments--and, true to its nature, it invites a certain sense of contemplative wonder. This is certainly lighter fare than we Villager's will typically recommend, but I'll be damned if it doesn't stick to our ribs with an distinctly energetic vivacity. Prepare to immerse yourself. See where the story takes you. Please find and enjoy the video for "A Wandering Path" below! Afterwards, head ye over over to bandcamp to pre-order the forthcoming Storm Haven (before its August 5th release. (And if you somehow need more convincing, look here shortly for an album review of worthy breadth and width). Guild of Lore can be found wandering about on:
