As a highfalutin scribe here at this well-respected establishment, I am typically loathe to pilfer turns of phrase directly from press kits. However, in the case of LEACH, I can hardly resist: "If it’s burly, melodic, and fits together perfectly, it’s probably from Sweden. LEACH certainly fall into the above categories, and their warts-and-all style of thrash 'n' roll is just begging for a throwdown." I couldn't, quite frankly, say it any better myself.

Today, we're pleased and honored to present the music video for LEACH's "D.O.D," a bonus track from their upcoming full length entitled Lovely Light of Life. This hefty track features none other than Björn “Speed” Strid
of Soilwork vox fame. Needless to say, it's worth checking out....which, incidentally, you can do below. As always, we'll meet ye on the flip side!

If you aren't prepared for some vigorously sweaty headbanging, you'd better get yourself appropriately situated. LEACH operate on a basis of energetic riffage, catchy choruses, and muscular groove. There's a definite 'core tinge on display, particularly in the case of the predictably aggressive vocal cadence and delivery. There's a gritty rock 'n' roll snarl that permeates the track as a whole, and the breakdown in the back half lends a potent dose of tough-guy swagger. Notably, however, LEACH don't drown themselves in grunting gym playlist aesthetics: the chorus is pretty damn anthemic.

As for the video itself, "D.O.D" appears to keep it classic with the tried and true formula: various-angles-of-the-band-in-a-room. However, at the midpoint, the whole affair becomes a little less stable: a frenetic camera and some stellar work in the light department help illustrate the general energy these guys bring to the table. It's a solid piece of work, and compliments the track quite well.

Say LEACH in regards to the track and question, and working with Björn: "Getting Björn to feature on one of our songs is of course a big deal. Us growing up in Sweden, Soilwork were such a big influence on us, still are. And Björn being the pro he is, absolutely nailed it on the first try. Stoked to have him on one of our songs and definitely something we now can check off our bucket list."

Besides standing alone as a mighty fine single, "D.O.D" serves as a bonus track on LEACH's forthcoming Lovely Light of Life, which will see the light of day on May 21st, 2021 via Brutal Records. Pre-order here!
